THE BITH
Biths are a species of highly evolved humanoids from the small planet of Clak’dor VII. It is located in the Magagil sector and orbits the large white star Colu. Many generations before the Battle of Yavin, the cities of Nozho and Weogar made war against each other with devastatingly powerful biological weapons. This reduced their once lush and beautiful planet into a mutated jungle-filled world with pink, bubbling swamps and a host of mutated creatures. Using their advanced technology the survivors built hermetically sealed cities and with the help of DNA analysis guaranteed successful mating.
They are 1.5 to 1.75 metres tall with bulbous, hairless craniums. Their large black eyes are set above their nose and mouth, which are covered in folds of skin.
Although they are near sighted, they can focus on microscopic objects. They also have perfect pitch, an acute sense of smell, and do not require the need to sleep.
The Biths have developed very intelligent minds but in the process their emotions have dwindled. Areas in the brain that deal with fear, aggression, and reproduction have shrunk. Things they have improved with though include art, languages, reasoning, mathematics, mechanics, science and music. Their love of music has inspired the creation of many Bith bands, which are a common sight in the universe. Seldom using weapons, they prefer discussion instead of aggression and violence.
FAMOUS BITHS INCLUDE: Figrin D’an and his group the Modal Nodes. Just before Luke Skywalker leaves Tatooine for the first time, Figrin and his band were playing at the Mos Eisley cantina. Another Bith, Barquin D’an (I’m not sure if he’s related to Figrin) was playing with the Max Rebo Band in Jabbba’s palace when Leia (disguised as Boushh) came to rescue Han Solo.
